Youth Basketball Update

We have had a great turnout for the youth teams and need to hold evaluations in order to divide some grades into two teams. 

These will take place for the following grades on Tuesday, November 1 at Halverson Elementary School: 

4th & 5th Grade from 6:00pm-7:00pm

6th & 7th Grade from 7:00pm-8:00pm

3rd & 8th Grades: No evaluations since there will be one team per grade

Please arrive 10 minutes early and have your son ready with gym shoes, comfortable clothing, and water bottle (optional). Our High School coaching staff will be running the evaluations.

We will get you in contact with your son's coach, practice times, and tournament dates after evaluations.

Online registration is required for all players. Registration fees are highly encouraged to be paid online. Checks may be made out to ALBBB and brought to Registration/Parent Info Night (Tuesday, September 27th at Wedgewood Cove from 6:30pm-7:30pm) or by mailing to ALBBB 1433 Circle Drive Albert Lea, MN 56007.


If you do not pay your registration fee on or before September 27th, a reminder will be sent and payment is expected before players can participate in evaluations.


Registering after September 30th will not guarantee placement on a team. If it should happen that your child registers but we do not have enough players or coaches to form a team, your registration fees will be refunded in full.


Scholarships / financial assistance is available, but you must register online. Shooting shirts and clothing will be available to try on and order at Registration Night.



Albert Lea Boys Basketball Youth Program (“ALBBB”) is a nonprofit organization committed to the development of youth basketball in the Albert Lea area. Emphasis is placed on the player development, sportsmanship, and teamwork. ALBBB offers a traveling program for boys to participate in advanced, competitive basketball tournaments in grades 3rd-8th. “Tiger Ball” is available for players desiring to improve their skills but not participate in weekend tournaments. ALBBB is proud to be a volunteer-run organization, which is only made possible by the participation of all parents and legal guardians during the basketball season.



There are fees associated with ALBBB’s youth season.

Participation Fee: The participation fee varies depending on which option your child participates.

  • 3rd-5th Grade, Tiger Ball: $50.00 A player will attend one practice per week. Early Nov-Jan.
  • 3rd Grade Traveling: $100.00 A player will attend all Tiger Ball and team practices, including travel to 2 weekend tournaments. Early Nov-Jan.
  • 4th Grade Traveling: $125.00 A player will attend all Tiger Ball and team practices, including travel to 3 weekend tournaments. Early Nov-Feb.
  • 5th Grade Traveling: $150.00 A player will attend all Tiger Ball and team practices, including travel to 4 weekend tournaments. Early Nov-Feb.
  • 6th – 8th Grade Traveling: $175.00 A player will attend all team practices, including travel to 5 weekend tournaments. Early Nov-Feb.  [NOTE: All traveling 7th & 8th grade basketball players are encouraged to also register for Junior High basketball through District 241. Registration will be through the High School Athletics department and the season takes place from January-February.]

Volunteer Expectation: ALBBB will host a youth tournament on Saturday, December 3rd and Sunday, December 4th at Albert Lea High School. Parents or legal guardians are expected to serve a 2-hour time slot over the weekend.

Uniforms: Uniforms will be issued for 3rd-8th Grade traveling teams. Players who do not return their uniform will be expected to pay $50.00 to ALBBB to replace the lost uniform.

Fundraisers: ALBBB holds one fundraiser per year, this year will be a Hoop-a-thon. It will be held in January or February and all players are expected to raise $50.00 in sponsorships. More information will be shared with players and parents as the season progresses.

Tournaments: ALBBB uses the participation fee to supply equipment, uniforms, pay for tournaments, coaches, etc. Teams may register for additional tournaments if coaches and parents agree to fund the additional tournaments.
